Sixteen people allegedly involved in kidnapping and armed robbery activities have been nabbed in Adamawa State.

The 16 were rounded up during security operations in parts of the state, mostly in Mubi North, Gombi, and Fufore local government areas.

This was disclosed on Sunday by the state Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Nguroje, who said the security operations were conducted by joint efforts of operatives of the police and local hunters.

“The operatives (of the Police) apprehended the suspects in a joint patrol with local hunters,” Nguroje said.

The police spokesman disclosed that six AK-47 rifles and other weapons were recovered from the suspects.

“On completion of investigation, the command will charge them to court for prosecution,” Nguroje assured.

He added that the state Commissioner of Police, Afolabi Babatola, particularly appreciated the local hunters for their role in arresting the suspects, and appealed for support from everyone to strengthen the police for greater performance.
