Oduneye told on Monday that he first got wind of the cancellation on social media. The airline later sent an email to announce his flight’s cancellation due to a Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) operational audit.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!“I was supposed to fly with Dana Air to Abuja that Sunday, but suddenly they sent an update saying that their operations had been suspended and my trip would no longer be possible,” Oduneye told .
“I first saw an update of the cancellation on social media and later, I got an email from them. The email they sent to me reads, Dear Esteemed Customer, Dana Air regrets to inform you that your flight has been cancelled due to the NCAA operational audit. Please note that we are working with the NCAA to ensure that this is resolved soonest.
“This update from them forced me to make alternative plans to return to Abuja. However, I immediately filed for a refund with the airline the next day.”
The civil servant said that, despite filing for a refund the next day, the airline has yet to issue a single response regarding the cause of the delayed refund.

“After I contacted the airline on April 29 for a refund and there was no response, I sent another email to them on August 2, but I still haven’t heard from them,” Oduneye said.
On Monday, contacted Dana Air for a response on Oduneye’s refund issue via its official WhatsApp number. had received no response at press time.
