The incident happened at Atan Cemetery, Mechanic village, Ayobo area of Lagos.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!According to the Police, the suspect sneaked into the cemetery in the early hours of the morning on 11th August, 2024, broke and removed the casting iron of the grave.
And while he was attempting to open the grave to temper with the corpse, he was caught by the security guards on duty.
The matter was reported to the Police at Ayobo Division and he was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over his alleged conduct.
During interrogation, he was unable to explain what he was doing at the cemetery as he claimed that he had not removed any part from the grave.
The Police found him culpable and consequently charged him before the Ejigbo Magistrate Court for the alleged offence.
He pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Benedict Aigbokhan, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, K.A. Ariyo, granted him bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
