According to report by Vanguard News published on July 6 2024, In a sermon delivered at the recently concluded Ministers & Workers Conference of RCCG Americas 1, which included participants from North, Central, and Caribbean regions under the theme “The Glory Ahead,” Pastor Adeboye, who has been preaching for over 45 years, shared his insights on the subject. He emphasized the story of Samson, an anointed judge in Israel who succumbed to sexual immorality despite his divine calling.

Addressing the question of why he continues to be active at his age, Pastor Adeboye responded, “Someone might ask, ‘Why are you still running at your age?’ I run faster than before because the closer you get to the finish line, the more cautious you must be.”

Challenging the notion that anointing makes individuals impervious to temptation, he remarked, “‘With all your anointing?’ Does anointing turn your body to stone? Samson was anointed. He single-handedly killed a thousand soldiers, yet a woman brought him down. I hope young men are paying attention.”

Speaking to both male and female congregants, Pastor Adeboye stressed the importance of discernment when confronted with seductive advances. He advised, “When someone smiles at you in a peculiar way, saying, ‘Where have you been all my life? It feels as if the sun has just come out,’ they are calling you sunshine. But by the time they are done with you, you won’t even distinguish between sunshine and sunset.”

Pastor Adeboye cautioned about the potential consequences by citing real-life examples. He stated, “Have you not read about a man who committed an offense 42 years ago and now his ministry is ruined? Anyone who tells you that your actions are hidden, they remain hidden until the wind starts to blow.”

Drawing from biblical teachings, he urged ministers to flee from youthful lusts, underscoring that there is no grace to justify engaging in actions that God instructs them to avoid. Concluding his sermon, he said, “The Bible says flee youthful lust. It did not say rely on grace alone. There is no grace for what God tells you to run away from. Perhaps there is grace to run.”

Pastor Adeboye’s impactful sermon served as a timely reminder to gospel ministers about the significance of personal accountability, self-discipline, and making wise choices to uphold their integrity and safeguard their ministries from the destructive consequences of sexual immorality.
