Anamekwe Nwabuoku, a former acting Accountant-General of the Federation, requested more time from Justice James Omotoso of the Federal High Court in Abuja to complete the repayment of N1.6 billion allegedly misappropriated alongside Felix Nweke.

Both are facing charges of money laundering dating back to Nwabuoku’s tenure as Director of Finance and Accounts at the Ministry of Defence.

Nwabuoku’s lawyer stated that substantial refunds had been initiated, pending administrative procedures with the EFCC. The court adjourned the case until October 14, 2024, for further proceedings.
