A total of 4,200 police officers have been stationed throughout the city, concentrating on key areas and potential trouble spots. This measure is intended to prevent interference by outside groups and to safeguard residents’ rights to peaceful protest.

In addition to the deployment of personnel, the police have also deployed explosive ordnance device experts to various locations. This is a precautionary measure to prevent any potential threats to public safety.

Police plan to raid identified problem areas, including uncompleted buildings and shanties, to prevent them from being used as hideouts by criminals taking advantage of the protest.

Stop-and-search operations will also be conducted, in collaboration with sister security agencies. This is aimed at preventing the movement of dangerous weapons and materials that could be used to disrupt the protest.

FCT Commissioner of Police Benneth Igweh has warned against the destruction of public and private property during the protest. He promised to combat any violence or lawlessness and assured residents of the police’s commitment to their safety.
