He highlighted that tribal affiliations are less significant in political support for many Nigerians today, noting that the issue mainly persists among older generations and political leaders who are still divided by tribal and religious differences.

Pearse further noted that within the National Assembly (NASS), politicians tend to set aside their differences and prioritize their shared interests as members of the privileged and wealthy class.

He stated that mentioning Igbo involvement in the Labour Party is often met with disbelief, emphasizing that political support has moved beyond tribal affiliations.

He noted that Nigerian youth, including those from Yoruba backgrounds, supported the Labour Party and criticized leaders for maintaining divisions along religious and tribal lines.

He also suggested that once in the National Assembly, politicians tend to form a unified group of the privileged elite.
