The accident happened around 6:30 AM and involved a Toyota Camry (YAB 133 JY) and a commercial bus (SMK 84 YB).

Investigators found that the driver of the Toyota Camry lost control of the car because he was drunk and hit the pedestrians, who were crossing the road with their luggage.
LASTMA made sure the injured were taken to Akodo General Hospital and arrested the driver of the Toyota Camry and two other people in the car.
They were handed over to the Elemoro Police Station.
Giwa said LASTMA quickly cleared the vehicles from the road to help traffic flow. He expressed sympathy for the victims and reminded all drivers to avoid drinking alcohol before driving.
