Cole mentioned that Wike had previously claimed responsibility for Fubara’s rise to power, asserting that Fubara would not have become governor without his support.

Tonye Cole stated that Nyesom Wike felt betrayed by Fubara’s actions, leading to a fallout between the two political figures.

Cole likened the situation to a parent attempting to control their child, only for the child to eventually revolt.

According to Tonye Cole, “The feud between governor Fubara and Nyesom Wike is playing out for all to see. His Excellency, Nyesom Wike stated very clearly that he did everything, he bought the forms, he filled the forms, he determined who will be there, that without him, Fubara would never have been a governor.

He did everything and Fubara did absolutely nothing. And then Wike felt that there was a total betrayal of that patronage. You cannot put that type of control on your own child without the child coming back to revolt.
