As reported by Vanguard on Wednesday, Gwaza’s courageous and selfless actions ultimately resulted in his death.
During the burial ceremony, Salome Gwaza, the wife of Lieutenant Commander Gwaza, gave a moving eulogy, expressing deep pride in her husband’s acts of heroism.
She reminisced about their nine years of marriage, which were marked by love, partnership, and inspiration.
Salome recognized the sorrow of his untimely passing but committed to raising their children in a way that would honor his memory.
She lauded Lieutenant Commander Gwaza for his intelligence, selflessness, dedication, and bravery, stating, “You had such a passion for your work, and I am proud that you died a hero. I will always be proud of you, and so will our children. You were a genuine soldier who valued every moment with us. I never imagined you would leave us so soon.”
Salome also pledged to uphold her late husband’s legacy, expressing her commitment to continue loving him even after his passing.
