She said while in captivity, she was chained and beaten. She said at one point, a boy attempted to sleep with her. Fortunately, someone intervened and prevented the assault when she cried for help.
Grace and her father were eventually released after their family members sold their belongings and borrowed money to raise the ransom that was required to secure their freedom from the bandits.
