The suspect, who was arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for stealing the lady’s mobile phone, claimed that he committed the crime to raise money for his sickle cell anemic sister.

The NSCDC FCT Commandant, Dr. Olusola Odumosu, who briefed the press on Friday on the incident, the suspect was arrested on Wednesday.

In his confessional statement, the suspect told newsmen that he met the victim on a hookup site and invited her to the hotel.

He added that he tied the victim so she wouldn’t be able to get help as he exited the hotel.

He said:

“I tied her so that she would not run after me as I fled. I told her to take off her clothes so that even if she can untie herself before she puts on her clothes I will be long gone.”

According to him, before his arrest, he had stolen from four other victims in Port Harcourt, Lagos, and Abuja.

On her part, the lady, who identified herself in the video as Olivia, said she lives in Enugu.

She corroborated the story that both of them met on a hookup site called “coded site,” admitting she has been on the site for a long while.

Narrating what happened at the hotel, she said:

“When I got to the hotel, the suspect asked me if I was afraid of death.

“He said if I cooperate with him he will not hurt me like other girls. He said his friend was outside and if I made any wrong move, he injected me with something.

“I pleaded with him, he slapped me and asked me to strip my clothes. I tried to get to the door but it was locked by him and he held the keys.”

According to her, the suspect initially used her dress to tie her hands. But when he noticed that that it wasn’t firm enough, he used cellophane tape.

While at it, he raised the volume of the television set in the room very high to muffle any sound and gagged his victim with a handkerchief.

He then took her phone, forced her to unlock it with thumb print, and asked for her bank account details.

However, after he discovered that the she didn’t have any money in the account, he left the room, warning her not to make any noice.

Speaking about how she managed to get helo, she said:

“I struggled and dragged myself to the window and banged it hard. Luckily, the guy heard me and I made a sign pointing in the direction the suspect went.”

Meanwhile, the NSCDC FCT Commandant disclosed that Efe’s suspicious movement as he attempted to escape from the hotel premises gave him away, adding that when NSCDC operatives tried to stop him, he broke into a run but was chased down and apprehended.

The commandant, however, noted that the video of the incident in the hotel room circulating online, was not recorded by NSCDC operatives.…..For More READ THE FULL ARTICLE HERE ▶▶
