This spontaneous act of compassion resonated deeply with the market women, who saw it as a reflection of their genuine concern for the welfare of ordinary citizens.
The PDP candidates took time to engage with the women, listening attentively to their concerns and challenges.
The traders expressed frustration with the current economic hardship, citing struggles to make ends meet and provide for their families.
Agboola Ajayi and Akingbaso promised to support the market women through:
1. Interest-free loans to boost their businesses
2. Creation of an enabling environment for entrepreneurship to thrive
3. Empowerment programs to enhance their economic independence
The market women, energized by the candidates’ promises, vowed to ensure their votes are for PDP in the upcoming election.
They further expressed concerns about potential electoral manipulation but remained resolute in their determination to exercise their democratic rights.
The Gubernatorial candidate however responded that the women should go out in large number by Nov 16 and vote for PDP, he however assured them that nobody can rig this coming election ” the threat from a party that they want to rig this coming election can not hold water , nobody or party can rig this coming election , is an empty threat , this is Ondo State, we would be up in our task to see that we prevent any form of rigging from any quarter” Ajayi assured .
“We are committed to empowering our market women and supporting their businesses. We understand the struggles they face, and we are dedicated to creating a more enabling environment for them to thrive.” Agboola Ajayi said
