The IGP confirmed that adequate personnel, resources, and state-of-the-art equipment would be deployed to safeguard the electoral process.

Egbetokun stressed that the police force had made the necessary arrangements to ensure a smooth election and would not require the assistance of Amotekun for the security of the poll.

The directive is a clear indication that the police are prepared to handle the security situation independently, ensuring that there is no overlap or confusion regarding the roles of various security agencies.

The decision to exclude Amotekun from participating in the election’s security arrangements comes as part of the police’s ongoing efforts to streamline security operations and maintain law and order during the election period.

This move also underscores the critical role of the Nigerian Police in overseeing the electoral process, from election day preparations to the announcement of results.

In the statement, Egbetokun outlined the strategic deployment of police officers to critical areas within the state.

The police will also be using modern equipment to monitor the election, including surveillance technology and body cameras to ensure transparency and accountability throughout the process.

The IGP further emphasized that the police would work closely with other relevant authorities, including the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to guarantee a fair and peaceful election.

He urged all political parties and their supporters to cooperate with the security forces to ensure that the election is conducted peacefully and without any disruptions.

With these preparations, the IGP’s directive aims to provide a secure environment for voters in Ondo and to maintain peace and order during the electoral process.READ FULL STORY HERE>>>CLICK HERE TO CONTINUE READING>>>
