The Ondo State Police Command, on Tuesday, revealed how a naval officer, identified as Mr Akingbohun, was killed in Idoani, Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State.

While giving an insight into how the incident occurred, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, in the state, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, said a six-man mob led by one Mr. Oyibo led the onslaught against the deceased naval officer.
The PPRO disclosed that the demise of the naval officer was made known by a friend of the deceased, one Sunday Olaoluwa of Iyayu Quarters in the community.
According to the Police spokesperson, an altercation that stemmed from a minor motorcycle-pedestrian situation led to the suspects, who are still at large, using iron and planks to attack the victim.
The victim was later taken to the General Hospital in Ido-Ani, where he was pronounced dead.
As a result of the incident, Idoani has reportedly become a ghost town, with residents fleeing after naval officers allegedly descended on the town in search of the suspects.
