He highlighted that the region’s insecurity stems from various factors, including criminal activity and government neglect, which contribute to despair in Igbo land.

Obidigbo criticized the government’s focus on superficial issues while overlooking the deeper causes of social unrest.

He expressed sorrow over reports of the ‘neutralization’ of young people, including both civilians and security personnel, stating that such narratives misrepresent the gravity of the situation and mask the tragedy of lost youth.

In a statement released to the media, Obidigbo emphasized that the plight of young people affected by violence transcends ethnic and religious lines.

He questioned why, more than five decades after the civil war, the government continues to act as if injustice is an appropriate reminder of past conflicts, despite claims of no victor and no vanquished.

He pointed out that the voices of the younger generation, many of whom were born after the war, reflect a response to perceived injustices faced by the Igbo.

Despite Nigeria’s claims of practicing democracy, he argued that the rule of law is often undermined, particularly in relation to the Igbo’s rights and freedoms.

Obidigbo also highlighted the discord between official narratives and the realities experienced by the Igbo, suggesting that the 2023 elections revealed evident bias and discrimination against them.

He referenced the abduction of Nnamdi Kanu, labeling it a crime against citizens, and criticized the government’s failure to uphold the law.

He noted that following Ekpa’s situation, Dr. Ngozi Orabueze quickly emerged as a leader, indicating a failure in current Igbo political leadership, which he described as self-serving and disconnected from the populace.

Addressing the apparent double standards in the treatment of various ethnic groups, Obidigbo remarked on the contrasting freedom enjoyed by individuals advocating for Nigeria’s separation and the harsh scrutiny faced by Igbo leaders.

He questioned the disparity in treatment, suggesting that Kanu’s case is uniquely influenced by his Igbo identity, highlighting ongoing systemic inequalities in the nation.…..For More READ THE FULL ARTICLE HERE ▶▶
