According to Cassano, Garnacho, despite being young and strong, may struggle to adapt to Napoli’s demanding environment under manager Antonio Conte. The 20-year-old Argentine has registered just three goals and one assist in 21 Premier League appearances this season, and Cassano believes that he may not be ready for the pressure and intensity of playing for a top-tier club like Napoli.
Instead, Cassano sees Ademola Lookman, the reigning African Footballer of the Year, as the ideal choice for Napoli. The Nigerian international has been in impressive form for Atalanta, delivering an impressive 34 goals and 21 assists in 80 Serie A appearances. This season, Lookman has already notched 13 goals and six assists in 25 games across all competitions, a remarkable feat for a player who primarily operates as a winger rather than a traditional striker.
Cassano believes that Lookman’s experience and quality make him a better fit for Napoli than Garnacho. He points out that Lookman has already proven himself in Serie A, and has the ability to score goals, assist, and work for the team. Cassano also suggests that Napoli could secure Lookman in a swap deal involving Giacomo Raspadori, which would reduce the cost of the transfer.
