The demonstration, led by the Students’ Union President, Aweda Bolaji, will begin at 7:00 AM on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, starting at the main gate of UCH.

In a statement, Bolaji emphasized the urgency of resolving the issue, calling the blackout a major disruption to academic activities and living conditions for students.
“We cannot continue to sit idly by while our education and well-being are compromised,” Bolaji stated.
We are calling on fellow students, faculty, and the wider community to join us in this peaceful demonstration to demand that the federal government addresses the power supply issue at UCH.
The protest, which will begin at UCH and proceed to the Secretariat, is expected to draw significant support from the student body.
The Students’ Union leadership is urging participants to remain peaceful and law-abiding throughout the demonstration.
This protest follows a series of similar actions by UI students, who have previously raised concerns over issues like tuition fee hikes and power rationing at the institution.
