In a video shared by Channels TV, Fadipe disclosed that Diya told him that he and other top military officers plotted the coup because they believed Abacha wanted to transform himself into a civilian president. He said Diya further stated that once Abacha achieved this, he would make himself a life president, which they wanted to prevent.
