Former Rangers and Aston Villa manager, Steven Gerrard, has been appointed head coach of Saudi Pro League outfit Al Ettifaq.

Ettifaq disclosed this in a tweet via its Twitter handle on Monday.

It tweeted, “Where legends are found. We’re thrilled to announce Steven Gerrard is our new head coach.”

It’s Gerrard’s first job since being sacked by Aston Villa last October after just 11 months in charge of the Premier League club.

Before Gerrard’s stint at Aston Villa, the Liverpool legend had a three-year spell in charge of Rangers, who he led to win the Scottish Premiership title in 2021.
