In the video, Sowore called for the removal of Egbetokun, criticizing the IGP’s leadership and what he described as an entrenched culture of favoritism within the Nigeria Police Force.

He emphasized that other police officers, who have put in years of service, deserve the opportunity to rise through the ranks, and that Egbetokun’s position should be vacated to allow for this.

Sowore framed his argument as a matter of fairness, suggesting that leadership should not be monopolized by a select few. Sowore’s call for Egbetokun’s removal has sparked strong reactions, with some agreeing with his stance on promoting equity within the police force, while others view his remarks as politically motivated.

The activist also addressed concerns surrounding his international passport, which authorities have sought as part of the ongoing legal battles against him. Sowore dismissed the significance of these concerns, claiming that as a “digital citizen,” he does not require a physical passport to travel. Sowore, known for his vocal criticism of the Nigerian government, also warned that those prosecuting him would face repercussions when he eventually becomes president.

According to him, “Speaking about international passport, I don’t have anyone to give because I am a digital citizen. I travel to everywhere I want at any time.”
