When he returned home, he could not find his wife. Concerned, he alerted members of the community, and a search was immediately launched. Sadly, Gloria’s body was later discovered on the farm where she had been working.

Peter confirmed that they found her the same day she went missing. “When I informed the community that I didn’t know her whereabouts, we started searching for her right away. It was later that we found her body on the farm,” he said.

The last conversation Peter had with his wife was earlier that morning when he called her to ask for his phone, which he had forgotten. “I asked her to deliver it to a Hausa man, but she said she was at the farm. I asked her to leave the farm and meet me at Ita-Oshin, but she didn’t. When I called her phone again, I couldn’t reach her,” he explained.

Later that day, when they tried calling her phone again, a man answered but did not speak. “We couldn’t tell if he was Yoruba or from another tribe. Her phone, a Tecno POP 5, was taken away, and we didn’t find it at the scene where she was killed,” he added.

The murder has left the community in shock, with residents demanding justice for Gloria, who was also a mother of one.
