Chief of Staff to the Ogun State Governor, Dr. Oluwatoyin Taiwo, at a meeting with the Managing Director of Santos Aviation Ltd, Mr. Segun Adesanya in Abeokuta said the new Ogun Airport at Iperu, Remo is full of potential for investment and urged the visiting aviator to take advantage of the project.

Adesanya, an indigene of the state intimated the government of his intention to contribute to the development of the aviation sector of the state through investment in training as he intended to give back to the society through technology transfer to youth interested in pursuing a career in aviation.

The state Commissioner for Transport, Engr Gbenga Dairo told the visiting Adesanya that the airport project has been ongoing for three years with a runway built to accommodate wide-bodied aircraft.

The Santos Aviation Boss affirmed he decided to involve the state due to the capability of developing it people in aviation with potential training for apprenticeship, which Santos Aviation will sign off the students, and will be eligible to obtain an Airframe License from the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) after taking the FAA examination.

The programme he explained would be in partnership with technical colleges and polytechnics in the state with 18 months duration under the FAA certificates in airframe mechanics, amongst others..
