The visit took place at Makinde’s Ikolaba residence following the passing of his elder brother.

Also in attendance were former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chibudom Nwuche, and PDP chieftain Bode George.
Speaking during the visit, Wike emphasized the unity of the former G-5 Governors, stating that Makinde’s loss affected them all.
He assured the governor of their support and prayed for strength for the bereaved family.
Bode George also expressed condolences, describing Makinde as an asset to Oyo State and urging him to remain strong.
Addressing national issues, Wike stated that President Bola Tinubu “means well for Nigeria” and urged citizens to be patient with ongoing policies.
He acknowledged the current economic difficulties but expressed optimism that the reforms would yield positive results in due time.
Governor Makinde appreciated the delegation for their thoughtfulness, thanking them for their support during his time of grief.
