It was gathered that the victim was kidnapped on February 7, when gunmen numbering about five, stormed his residence at Owanoba community, in Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area of the state.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!The command’s spokesperson, CSP Moses Yamu, said the victim was rescued unhurt on February 8 by the operatives of Ologbo police division.
He said the victim was kidnapped in the presence of his family in his residence at the Power Line area of Owanoba community by armed men numbering five.
He said the victim had been reunited with his family after receiving medical attention.
Speaking further, CSP Yamu said the police also arrested a member of Vikings cult group, Kelly Osayawe, over alleged attempted murder and unlawful possession of arms.
Yamu said Kelly invited his cult group members for his mother’s burial and that during the burial procession, the said Kelly armed with locally made cut-to-size pistol loaded with four live cartridges, started firing shots into the air.
He added that in the process, he shot one Mr Nzube Cletus Mbum, who was standing in front of his shop and the pellet caused him injuries on his hand, leg and back.
He said the suspect made an attempt to run away but was chased and apprehended with assistance from members of the public.
