He made the statement while speaking about the importance of realignment in attaining the presidency. He said many years ago, the situation of the Yorubas was similar to that of the Igbos because they were also doing everything alone.

Julius Abure said the Labour Party is ready to support the Igbos in 2027 to ensure that the group realizes its dream of ruling the nation. He said the party made the decision in 2023 and it is willing to make the same decision again in 2027.
According to Labour Party, Julius Abure said;
“Over the years, students of history will agree that the Yorubas at some point were like the Igbos who were doing it all alone and they were unable to capture power. Before during and after independence, the Yorubas couldn’t make it to the presidency but when they realigned, it was easy for them to make it to the presidency. It is a lesson for the Igbos to learn”.
