Iran’s parliament has officially approved a set of measures in response to the recent U.S. airstrikes on its nuclear facilities. The legislative move, which came just hours after President Donald Trump confirmed that American forces had struck three of Iran’s key nuclear enrichment sites, signals Tehran’s intent to respond with force if necessary.
Lawmakers declared all U.S. military bases and personnel across the Middle East—estimated at between 40,000 and 50,000 troopsbas “legitimate targets.” The motion also includes authorizing the military to take necessary actions in the event of further escalation, while reinforcing Iran’s right to maintain its nuclear program under the Non-Proliferation Treaty.
The decision followed what Iranian authorities called a clear violation of their sovereignty. While no human casualties were reported in the airstrikes, the damage to Iran’s nuclear infrastructure was described as “extensive and deliberate” by the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran.
The parliament’s emergency session was marked by rare unity across political factions. Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf called the strikes “an act of aggression” and emphasized that Iran will not allow external pressure to dictate the future of its nuclear policy. “The Islamic Republic reserves the right to self-defense and will determine the time and manner of its response,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Iranian military has placed key defense units on high alert. Missile systems have been repositioned in strategic locations across the country, and state media has increased broadcasts warning the public of potential retaliatory scenarios. The Revolutionary Guard also stated that U.S. naval vessels in the Persian Gulf would be treated as hostile forces if tensions escalate further.
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has also begun diplomatic outreach to allies including Russia and China. In a televised statement, he said Iran would “respond proportionately and responsibly,” while leaving open the possibility of diplomatic solutionsn provided the U.S. ceases further military actions…..For More READ THE FULL ARTICLE HERE ▶▶
