A 100-level student of Taraba State Polytechnic, Iorhee Saanmoyol Paul, has survived a tragic accident that led to the amputation of both his hands. The shocking incident occurred on May 21, 2025, near the school gate along the Roadblock to ATC Road in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital.

According to eyewitnesses, Paul was electrocuted while attempting to hoist a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) flag near an electrical pole. The contact triggered a surge that left him unconscious before passersby rushed him to a nearby hospital. Doctors later confirmed that both hands would have to be amputated to save his life.
