Sowore, the founder of the African Action Congress (AAC) and the #RevolutionNow movement, did not mince words in his response. In a scathing post on his official X handle, he wrote: “The Devil wants to replace his evil people and supplant them with some other evil people, so that evil will keep being recycled and sustained. Evil people!” The comment reflects Sowore’s long-standing disillusionment with the Nigerian political establishment, which he frequently accuses of perpetuating systemic corruption and incompetence.

The alleged quote from El-Rufai comes on the heels of his defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in March 2025.
