Senator Ndume Discloses Cause of the Dispute Between President Bola Tinubu and Amaechi

According to report by Vanguard News, Amaechi had contested the 2023 All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary but came second, securing 315 votes against Tinubu’s 1,271. Despite the defeat, Ndume said Amaechi contributed to Tinubu’s eventual victory by supporting his presidential campaign. Ndume disclosed that following the election, President Tinubu reached out to both him and Amaechi, expressing a desire for collaboration. A meeting was scheduled to take place after Ndume’s return from Hajj, where discussions about working together were to be finalized. However, the meeting never materialized, and according to Ndume, that was the point at which Amaechi was sidelined.

“Tinubu said he wanted to meet with me and Amaechi. We agreed, but the meeting didn’t happen after I returned from Hajj. That’s when they abandoned Amaechi,” Ndume said.
