The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has disclosed more details about the deadly attack carried out by bandits on June 13, 2025, in the Yelewata community in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State. He said the bandits first attacked the police station in the community, not knowing that extra officers had already been sent there earlier by the Commissioner of Police.
gbetokun said that 49 people lost their lives in total, but made it clear that two of them were the bandits who were killed during the fight with the police.
