Panic has gripped the Ebem Ohafia ancient kingdom in Abia State as a fast-expanding erosion gully has ripped through a section of the royal palace belonging to the community’s paramount ruler, Ezie Ukoha Kalu Ukoha. Reports indicate that the gully, which began as a minor ditch years ago, has now grown into a monstrous environmental hazard, swallowing farmlands, economic trees, and homes. The Publicity Secretary of the Ebem Ohafia Development Union, Ifeanyi Okali, expressed deep concern, saying, “It is beyond the capacity of our people to handle anymore. Our community may be wiped off the map if nothing is done.”
