Speaking after a security meeting with the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, and other traditional rulers in Benue, the monarch urged authorities to distinguish between long-settled, peaceful Fulani and those who bear arms and commit atrocities in the state.
Emphasising the importance of peaceful coexistence, he stated, “We are not saying all Fulani should leave. The known, peaceful ones have been with us for years.”

The meeting in Makurdi followed rising insecurity in the state, including recent attacks in Yelewata. General Musa ordered the arrest of anyone found in possession of illegal arms and vowed that those threatening security personnel would be neutralised.
