Moro’s resistance stems from his appointment as Minority Leader in 2023, following the Appeal Court’s removal of Senator Simon Mwadkwon. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) zoned the position to the North Central to ensure regional balance, a decision announced by Akpabio but met with protests from Labour Party senators, who argued it favored the PDP over other minority parties.
