Suspected gunmen have reportedly killed a 37-year-old businessman, Chinonso Ugwu of Balele village in Ningi Local Government Area.

The recent incident was said to have occurred at about 1:30 am on Tuesday when the gunmen visited the late businessman in his house.
It was gathered that the gunmen had tried to force their way into the late Ugwu’s residence but he refused to open the door for them. Irked by his resistance the gunmen had reportedly shot him several times in the head and stomach.
“He stood by the door from the inside to prevent them from gaining entrance, it was then they shot at the door severally, in the process, some bullet hit him.” A village source told DAILY POST.
It was also learned that the deceased was rushed to the Burra General Hospital in the company of Police personnel where he was confirmed dead upon arrival.
Meanwhile, the State Police Command is yet to confirm the incident as of press time.
The spokesman of the Command, Ahmed Wakili did not reply to messages sent to him by our reporter nor did he answer calls put across to him.
