According to reports by Vanguard on Tuesday July 1, 2025, a coalition of young people under the umbrella of the All Igbo Youth Forum has issued a stern warning to President Bola Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), stating that governors and other political leaders from the South East are misleading the president about the true sentiments of the region ahead of the 2027 general election.

At a press briefing held at Awka Hall in Umuahia, Abia State, and attended by over 300 youths from across the South East, the group declared that the future of political support in the region lies in the hands of its youths, not elected officials.
