Benin Republic head coach, Gernot Rohr, is looking forward to coming up against the Super Eagles in the qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Squirrels will face the three-time African champions in Group C of the qualifiers.
South Africa, Zimbabwe, Rwanda and Lesotho are the other teams in the group.
The first-place team in the group will qualify automatically for the World Cup.
The 70-year-old is already anticipating a tough duel against his former team.
“Benin fell into an extremely tough group, with obviously Nigeria as the favourite, a team we know quite well. But also the others, that is to say, South Africa, already qualified for the next AFCON very early with a new state of mind,” the Franco-German technician explained,” Rohr was quoted by 24HauBenin.
The qualifiers will start in November 2023.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be jointly hosted by the United States of America, Mexico and Canada.
