Rice has left West Ham and completed his switch to Arsenal in a record-breaking £105million transfer which was confirmed on Saturday.
The biggest clubs around Europe battled to sign the former West Ham captain.
Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Manchester United were said to have attempted to sign the England international.
Bayern entered the race to sign Rice late on but the Gunners meant business and were ready to go all out.
And Tuchel has now expressed his disappointment, saying that the 24-year-old would have added more quality to his team ahead of next season.
Asked about Bayern’s failed pursuit of Rice, the German manager told reporters, “It could have been an interesting addition to have a player with his character in the squad.
“He’s a good player and he went to a good club. He has a profile that I don’t think we have in the squad. It could be interesting to have it.”
