The command said in a statement that the hideouts from which the suspects were dislodged were in Yola South and Fufore local government areas.

“The operation, which was carried out on September 11, 2023, followed the kidnapping of one Mrs Becky Ladawus, a resident of Nyibango, Yola South Local Government Area,” the police said in a statement signed by its Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Nguroje.

The operation, carried out by the command’s operatives in conjunction with hunters, yielded a positive result as the victim was rescued unharmed.”

Two of the suspected kidnappers who laid ambush to prevent the security agents’ access to their hideouts were killed in the operation, which also led to the recovery of two pump-action guns, charms, chains, and mobile phones.

“The outcome of these successes followed a collaborative strategy designed by the command and the hunters to rescue kidnapped victims and arrest the culprits,” the police explained.

The statement averred that Commissioner of Police Afolabi Babatola had directed officers to further chase the suspects on the run and ensure they were denied the opportunity to regroup anywhere in the state.
