The Police Command in Zamfara has assured of a thorough investigation into the murder of veteran Journalist, Hamisu Danjibga.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that Danjibga, who was the State Correspondent, Hausa Service of the Voice of Nigeria (VON) went missing for three days before his body was found in a soak-away behind his house on Wednesday.
Abubakar said the command received information about the missing journalist, who was a reporter with Voice of Nigeria (VON) Hausa service, from the State Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Ibrahim Musa.
According to him, the Journalist had been missing since Sunday, Sept. 16.
“On receipt of the information, the Divisional Police Officer, Tudun-Wada Division in Gusau, the state capital mobilised a team of detectives to investigate the circumstances.
“At about 1:33hrs, on Sept. 20, the information further revealed that the decomposed corpse of the journalist was found in a soak-away behind the house of the deceased.”
He added that the move also resulted in the arrest of one suspect, Mansur Haruna, aged 35 with a Gionee cell phone suspected to belong to the deceased.
“The case is under investigation, any further development will be communicated to the general public accordingly.
“The command under the Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Dalijan, commiserates with the family, members of the NUJ, management of VON Hausa service and the entire state over the death of the veteran journalist,” the PPRO further said.
