Adetimehin described Adams’ claim as false and emphasised that the PDP was a party in disarray and gasping for breath.

In a statement issued in Akure, Adetimehin denied his involvement in the swearing-in ceremony of the caretaker committee, which Adams had alleged took place at the Government House as opposed to the House of Assembly, where it took place.

The PDP chairman tackled Adetimehin earlier on Tuesday, accusing him of peddling rumours of the defection of members of the PDP State Working Committee to the ruling APC.

Adetimehin refuted the claims on Wednesday, asserting that Adams was deliberately distorting the facts for political gain. He urged Adams to focus on addressing the internal challenges within the PDP rather than resorting to false claims and attempts to sow discord among APC members.

“It is important to clarify that Ade Adetimehin was not at the swearing-in of the caretaker committee, as claimed by the PDP Chairman.

“The swearing-in ceremony took place at the House of Assembly. It is regrettable that the PDP chairman has chosen to misrepresent the facts to discredit me and our party. I called on Mr. Adams to provide the names of these individuals who have supposedly returned.

“It is essential to substantiate such claims with concrete evidence rather than make sweeping statements without any factual basis,” he said.
