In a report by Daily Post, the group accused Akpabio’s party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), of shielding the dismissed chairman, Julius Abure, through state-backed security, allowing him to disregard the court’s ruling and continue unlawfully. This, they argued, amounts to a concerted effort to undermine the judiciary and manipulate democratic processes.

The Obedient Movement condemned Akpabio’s portrayal of the situation as both dishonest and hypocritical. They argued that by disregarding the Supreme Court’s ruling and using the resulting confusion for political gain, Akpabio is complicit in creating a false narrative aimed at discrediting Peter Obi.

The movement emphasized that Obi had consistently respected legal processes by taking the matter to court, and that it was the APC’s interference that had prolonged the issue. They criticized the unfairness of blaming Obi for a crisis that had been sustained by external political forces.

The group viewed Akpabio’s comments as an attempt to divert attention away from the unlawful actions of his party, urging Nigerians to recognize that the real issue lies in the deliberate erosion of the rule of law for partisan purposes.
