With this uncommon high score, Anthony Toruka has made history in St Augustine College, New Karu Nasarawa state, as the top best in UTME since inception of the highly revered Catholic Missionary School.

He is a rare gem; a gift to St Augustine College New Karu , a gift to his parents and a gift to his generation.

Our investigations revealed that Anthony Toruka has been confirmed a genius by the authority of St Augustine College New Karu and his academic records and laurels speak volumes of his intellectual capacity and prowess.

Additionally, our findings at St Augustine College New Karu Nasarawa state disclosed that the young Anthony Toruka has maintained steady and consistent academic flow since his SS 1 and has been exposed to writing external examinations.

In 2022, the College Principal granted about five most brilliant students in his class to sit for the General Certificate of Education, GCE alongside with the SS3 students of that year to test their capabilities of course that was the first time such privilege was given to any student. Amazingly, Anthony Toruka got the top best result in that GCE which he wrote in SS1, with four A’s and four B’s.

In the same vein, the school authority encouraged him to sit for the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) examination, in December 2024. In fact, he was the only student in his set who sat for that international examination. Again, Anthony Toruka got a whopping score of 1510 out of 1600.

In February, 2024 while he was in SS2, he won an award of outstanding performance in lQ Mathematics and English Language competition in Nigeria in SSS category where he took first position in the whole of Nasarawa state.

Similarly, in February 2025 in the same examination for Senior Secondary category tagged “lQ Mathematics and English Language Academic Exposure Nigeria,” young Anthony Toruka scored 44 out of 50 in Mathematics and 43 in English out of 50 with a total score of 87 out of 100 thereby clinching the 4th position in the Federation and first in the entire North, including the FCT.

More so, our findings from St. Augustine College, New Karu Nasarawa state further revealed that Anthony Toruka who hails from Illah in Oshimili North local government area of Delta state has maintained straight As in all his subjects and has also maintained first position in his class from SS1 to date.

Judging by his academic feat over the years, his school confirmed him as a genius and he remains the top best in his Set with a cumulative Point Average of 5/5. Considering his academic strength and honour, the young Anthony was brought to St. Augustine College, New Karu, the school’s principal officially branded him a ‘Special Student’ and placed him on special meals on Sundays.

It is germane and instructive to affirm that St. Augustine College, New Karu, Nasarawa state, is the school to beat in Nigeria. The UTME result just recently released by JAMB has placed them on a high pedestal.

While the young Anthony Toruka got a whopping and historic score of 364, two other students in the same school also scored 352 and 348, respectively, which explains why St. Augustine College, New Karu, Nasarawa state, remains one of the best in the country.

The young Anthony Toruka plans to study Software Engineering in the University.

The God-fearing, loving, humble and soft spoken Anthony was the school’s ICT prefect.

His hobbies include reading, singing and performing some culinary activities whenever he has the opportunity to do so, including playing volleyball.

Indeed, Anthony deserves to be recognised and celebrated by the Delta state government for this unprecedented feat and for making the state proud, considering the abysmal poor performance of candidates in this year’s 2025 UTME examination as disclosed by the Registrar of JAMB while giving the breakdown of the UTME results.

Such a recognition will spur other students of the state, and indeed other states, to up their ante in striving for excellence.

The young Toruka no doubt is a worthy ambassador of Delta state and his labour should not be in vain.

While we await the overall ranking of the 2025 UTME results by the JAMB, we congratulate Anthony Chinecherem Toruka for making the state proud and for being an emerging academic colossus.
