In a statement issued to newsmen in Gusau on Thursday by the state Publicity Secretary, Yusuf Idris, the party described his murder as disheartening.

NAN reports that Danjibga, the State Correspondent of Voice of Nigeria (VON), had been missing for three days before his corpse was found in a soakaway behind his house on Wednesday.

“The state party Chairman, Alhaji Tukur Danfulani wishes to commiserate with the immediate families of the deceased, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) and entire members of the NUJ Correspondents Chapel in the state over the Danjibga’s death,” Idris said.

The scribe further described the deceased as a friend to everyone, saying, “he was dedicated, and he spent the whole of his life in serving humanity through the journalism profession.

“This is a great loss to the journalism profession, Zamfara and Nigeria as a whole.

“We pray to Allah to forgive his sins and grant his family the fortitude to bear the loss.”

Idris said that the state APC leadership has, therefore, urged security agencies to investigate and bring the perpetrators of the terrible act to book.

NAN also reports that the remains of the deceased had since been buried in Gusau, the Zamfara capital, according to Islamic rites.
