The new national vice chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) North West, Garba Datti Muhammad, says the party must unite to retain its dominance and political relevance in the region.

He made the observation during his inaugural meeting with zonal executive officers at the party’s zonal secretariat in Kaduna.

Malam Musa Mailafiya Mada, the zonal publicity secretary of the APC, in a statement, on Wednesday, said the zonal chairman stressed the need for unity and harmony in the zone to step up the party’s fortunes in the region.

He said, “The zone must remain committed to ensuring its status does not erode politically. I, however, acknowledge the importance of the North West zone to the political development of the country.

He pledged to use his vast experience and connections to bolster unity and cohesion among members of the party in the geopolitical zone, assuring that the party’s national chairman, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, was equally committed to ensuring that the APC succeeds in the region.

The new vice chairman was sworn in on Friday, August 25, 2023, following the resignation of Salihu Mohammed Lukman, on July 26, 2023.
