However, not everyone is pleased with the government’s response to the protests. Dele Momodu, a former presidential aspirant, has written an open letter to President Bola Tinubu, blaming him for the country’s current challenges. Momodu expressed concern over the difficulties ordinary Nigerians face and the perception that the President’s approach to governance has shifted.

Human rights activist Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa (SAN) has asked for police protection for protests planned from August 1 to 10, 2024. Representing the Take It Back Movement, Adegboruwa has requested the Inspector General of Police to provide details about the officers assigned to the protests to ensure proper coordination.

The protests come as Nigerians express frustration over the country’s economic and social challenges. The government’s response to the protests will be closely watched, as citizens demand action to address their grievances. Will the protests be peaceful, or will tensions escalate? Only time will tell.
