It’s recalled that the bill was being sponsored by the Parliamentary Secretary of the House, Mr Moyinolorun Ogunwumiju (Ondo West Constituency 1/APC).

Speaking to newsmen after a solidarity visit to the assembly , Otunba Alaba Olabamidele Alabi, the state President of the association, who led other members of the association, said that the bill would if passed would smoothen the work of the association.
Alabi, who asked all and sundry to support the passage of the bill, stated that if the bill was passed into law, it would be of great benefit to people of the state.
He said that prevalence of land grabbing in any society would hamper development, hence the need to support the passage of the bill.
“Land grabbers are seriously impending our own profession. We are also the victims because whenever we have opportunity to sell land, and another person will just come in to say he is the owner of the land.
“So, definitely, we are throwing our weight behind this bill for speedy passage and for inclusion.
“ We have met the Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Chief Olamide Oladiji, and he has promised that the House of the Assembly will do the needful to make every stakeholder happy.
“We commend the state House of the Assembly for every stage the bill has passed through and we have confidence that the bill will see the light of the state.
“We never knew anybody could have the desire to sponsor such bill; it’s highly commendable. People of the state should throw their weight behind the bill because anybody can be a victim,” he stated.
The association president said that the association had renewed its commitment in curbing quackery in the profession.
“ We started something called operation licence in collaboration with the state’s Ministry of Commerce because a lot of people are on board to destroy the profession.
“As a union, we are doing a lot to address this and hopefully if this bill is passed and assented by the state governor, the quackery would be dealt with in the profession,” he said.
The bill is to prohibit forceful entry and illegal occupation of landed properties, violent and fraudulent conducts in relation to landed properties in the state.…..For More READ THE FULL ARTICLE HERE ▶▶
