Wike made this statement during the groundbreaking ceremony for the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal Complex. He emphasized that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s approval for the construction of the Appeal Court Complex, judges’ and justices’ lodging, and retirement homes demonstrates his commitment to prioritizing the judiciary.

Wike stressed the importance of “putting the judiciary where it is supposed to be” for the nation’s progress and achieving the goals of “The Renewed Hope Agenda.” The Minister assured that the project will be completed by September 2025, with N30 billion already allocated in the 2024 budget, totaling N37 billion for the project.

During the 2023 Legal Year, the Minister recalled that the President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Monica Dangban-Mensem, had requested the establishment of the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal and appropriate housing for justices. “I presented the issue to President Tinubu, and he gladly gave his approval,” Wike stated.
