A statement was released by the group by Alhaji Ishaya Onnusim, the Public Relations Officer of AYC. The statement highlighted the recent attacks on the towns of Gefe and Barga, which led to the barbaric slaughter of community leaders and innocent citizens and the kidnapping of numerous others.

In a Saturday article in the Daily Post, Onnusim reportedly denounced the unending misery and pleaded for swift measures to safeguard Adara villages and apprehend those responsible from among reasonable Nigerians.

The dread that has gripped his land is unbearable, and he prayed for divine intervention to save them.

Collective action is necessary to halt the slaughter and bring peace to their villages, the Adara Youth Congress emphasized, and they called for immediate action to break the siege on their homeland.

During the current attack, Mr. Emmanuel Dangaladima (Agom Ana-Gefe), the chief of their village, was mercilessly killed, according to Onnusim.

He said, “The violence did not end there. Mr Eze Paska, a young Igbo man who had settled in our community with his family, seeking peace and prosperity, was also killed in cold blood.

“His life was tragically cut short simply because he chose to live among us. In a further act of cruelty, his beloved wife was abducted by these heartless killers.”

In addition to the 16 victims, he said that 16 other helpless villagers had been abducted and taken somewhere else. His words brought tears to the eyes of the victims’ loved ones, who are reportedly suffering from anguish and fear for the future.
