In an interview with Vanguard on Sunday, he cautioned that if leaders fail to take necessary actions, the country will soon face massive protests that will affect everyone.

He noted that there is a severe hunger crisis in the north and criticized regional governors for not doing enough to address it.
Shettima added that despite the North’s chance to lead Nigeria, it failed to make significant progress during that period.
He pointed out that the eight years under former President Muhammadu Buhari did not benefit the North or Nigeria and that the current issues stem from Buhari’s legacy.
Shettima remarked that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu inherited these problems from Buhari, which explains the Northerners’ strong participation in the hunger protest.
He said, “Tinubu inherited the problem. This is the fallout of the Buhari administration’s failures. It has led to our people’s deep involvement in the protests.”
“If the leaders do not address the issues, they will face severe protests soon, impacting everyone,” he warned.
